How have your experiences been regarding being exclusive/boyfriend/girlfriend/committed? we are dating exclusively, not seeing anyone else, but haven't decided to commit to a full on relationship... But if your happy to enjoy it and go with the flow and see how things are going and are enjoying it you could leave it how it is for me. I would suppose that if you're dating someone exclusively, but not yet willing to call them a girlfriend/boyfriend, this indicates that you're not 100% sure about them yet.
I don't think one should date exclusively for more than three months.... I've always met people, been on a few dates, and we've become boyfriend and girlfriend. I honestly don't get 'seeing eachother exclusivley' because it surely means your boyfriend and girlfriend. You like them, but you don't know yet if you want to be with them long-term.
The word dating entered the American language during the Roaring Twenties.
Prior to that, courtship was a matter of family and community interest.
I'm not all about what we call it...just been really nice so far. But then I know most people think differently to me.While there are non-Christians who date with the intention of having a series of intimate physical relationships, for the Christian this is not acceptable and should never be the reason for dating. Many Christians see dating as little more than friendship and maintain the friendship aspect of their dating until both people are ready to commit to each other as potential marriage partners.Plenty of women have assumed "exclusive" meant they were in a relationship whereas the guy assumed it meant "sexually monogamous but still open to finding someone more suitable for a real relationship".Assume nothing...having an open and clear dialogue about intention and expectations is the best way to avoid misunderstandings.
Question: "What is the difference between dating and courting?
